Thomas Bamferick, wlho was to have (been electrocuted a!t 'Sing Sing to-day for murdering a -policeman was reprieved on new evidence. This is the fourth case of new testimony within two months of men convicted of -murder in New York. Probably the innocent farm hand' St/ieelow will ibe similarly reprieved on the eve of electrocution. Last month two other convicts, undergoing- 20-year sentences for murder, one Qiad 'been given a new trial aind the other unquestionably ■will 'have a new trial on evidence furnished to-day by men arrested who swear that they committed tilie crime. Strong feeding is developing for reform in the Public Prosecutor's method of conducting capital trials.
