AJSWiUIAL" MEETING. The annual meeting of t'he . Nelson. Homing Piegon Club was held last Toiesr day evening. There was a good attenriV ance. The report of the season's work was read: >by the secretary, and- showed Ithat the performances of the Nelson pigeons were equal! to any in New Zealand. "' ' The winner of the 'handsome 400-day clock for most points in all races was won by H. Simpson. The winneirs of the long-distance races were: Hockey "Bros, (flown from Russell, 454 milies), and H. Smith (flown f,rom Inveroargill, 432 milies)!. The balance sheet showed tlhe club to be in a creditable position. The report and balance sheet were adopted. ■Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr H. (Baigenlt; president, Mr J. Hockey; vice-presidents', Messrs E. &'. Maa-tan, Frank Gibbons, R.. Blandj Sergt.' Barrett, G. H. King, J. A. Stringer., D. Crushek, Geo. VVnite, W. A. Mitohener, G. Townsend>, and G. W. Wells; secretary and) treasurer, W. T. &rnipspn,. Three new •memlbers were electept.. Votes of thanks were passed to' Messrs Bland, Crushek, - rown 8r05.., H. Walters,' iSimpson, L. Mayo and 1 others for donations and trophies; also., the. shipping companies and .railway officials' for Uheir valuable assistance.
