The Primo Minister to-day despatrh- ' ed the following cablegram to the High Commissioner :— "The meat companies here state that they are advised that the importation of frozen kidneys and other offal into the United Kingdom has been prohibited. Kindly see the Home Government and point out ' lliat ' I his would be a very serious matter and a handicap to the New Zealand trade. As the whole business i* under inspection here there would be no justification for such a course with respect to . New Zealand. It is generally regard- ■ ed as mast unfriendly towards the Do- . minion ,and before any action of the j I kind is taken I think ns a matter of i fairness fuller information should be furnished to the Government; and, in i coses where current contracts, or ship- . iment/s afloat, are concerned, these should be exempted nntil a settlement is made, The matter is a very important one, and I should he glad if you will Rive it ycur immediate attention.
