SUICIDE BY DROWNING.
DRIVEN MAD BY A LAW TRANSACTION. [United Pbess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. At the inquest to-day ou the body of Henry Bennett, of Prestons-road, Styx, tho Coroner returned a verdict that deceased had committed suicide while in a state of unsound mind. The evidence showed that deceased, who was a single man of about 60 years of age, after leaving two notes stating tbat a land transaction had driven him mad, and be intended to commit suicide, had drowned himself in a drain about threo feet wide, and with two feet of water in it.
