AMUSEMENTS.
THE KILTIES BAND. Nelson will be visited by the "Kilties •" the world-famous Scottish-Cana-dian Band, on 3rd and 4th prox. In conjunction with the band are the Clan Johnstoues, a troupe of national dancers in the traditional Gaelic costumes of Sgotland and Ireland- The 'Kilties' have been a touring combination for eight years, and have appeared by Koyal command before the King at Balmoral (September 17, 1904) and Sandrinham (November 9, 1904),. There are 42 members in the new band, and they also form a liedertafel choir for the harmonious rendering of Scottish and Canadian ballads. This kilted band boasts two giants, a drunl-riiajor 7ft. 2in. in height, and a second drum-ma-jor 7ft. 6in. in height. Mr Albert Cook, the conductor, wears the Victorian medal, bestowed on him by the King. A matinee wili be given in the Park on Wednesday afternoon, when it is anticipated that at least 5000 people will be present. The giant drum-majors of the Kilties Band will airive in Nelson to-morrow morning. The Garrison Band will give a concert in the Botanical Reserve on Monday evening next.
