THE PROGRAMME. [United Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday. The executive officer of the NewZealand Defence Forces Rifle Association has sent the following circular to every rifle club and Volunteer corpf in the Dominion : — The Executive Council of the New Zealand Defence Forces Rifle Association is desirous of encouraging a keener competition in the teams matches, and, with that object, has arranged a series of matches for the next meeting at Trentham, which are open to every volunteer company and rifle club in New Zealand. The Council hopes to see every volunteer company and rifle club represented. Six matches, as under, have been placed on the pro- : gramme, and £131 in cash prizeß have ' been allotted to this scries. Matches 13 to 17 are open to teams of five men. All ranks may compete, and the inclusion of the same men throughout is not necessary. Three pounds a team is the entrance fee for the six matches. A unit can enter one or more teams : — Match -3— Section firing match. £10. Match 15— Surprise Service Target ■ Match, ' £10. I Match 16— Rapid Firing Match, £10. ! Match 17— Colonial Ammunftion ! Company's Match. £10. Match 18— Champion Team Match. : £57 10s. ; T-airn Championship — £24.
