MULTIPLICITY OF CANDIDATES. [United Pjre3s Association.] THAMES, Wednes. The by-election to fill the vacancy in the House of Representatives caused by the transference of Mr M'Gowan to the Legislative Council will be held tomorrow. Mr Lucas has been selected as the Government candidate. Messrs Taylor and Rhodes are Government supporters, and Mr Haselden is selected as the Opposition candidate. Wr Dceble also stands for the Opposition. Mr MiGowan is eiippoTtin;.' .V- Lucas" candidature. Tho election is exciting great interest, and there is a general opinion that there will be a second ballot.
