Melbourne, Dec. 19. The cricket match between the English team and the Eleven of Victoria was resumed to-day. Tbe weather was again showery during the day and the wicket vas very dead, and play was frt queril.y interrupted by the ram. When the stumps were drawn tbe Englishmen, who bad continued their secoud innings, had put together 162 for tha loss of seven wickets; Barlow, caught for 42; Selby caught for 32; Shrewsbury not out for 62. The dispute between Professors Elkington and Maneon, in regard to the fracas which occurred at the University Board meeting bas now been amicably settled and the threatened action bas been abandoned. T , . Tuesday. it is expected that Parliament will be prorogued this day. The decision of tbe University Council in connection with tbe fracas between the Prc"Bsora ha. te.-u published. Professor JUJuDeton has been suspended for one month, and 1 rofesaor Manson has been fiued £50.
