Loxdon, December 5, It is ( fficially announced that the appointment of Mr W. J. Sendell to the LieutenantGovernorship of Naial has been cancelled by tne Government, who thus accede to the wishes of the Natal colonists. Ie is further announced that in providing a successor to Sir Evelyn Wood, the Government will appoint a full Governor of the colony icstead of a Lieut-Governor as in the past, thos still further meeting the views of the colonists as recently expressed. An official statement has been published to the effect that Sir Garnet Wolseley, at present Quartermaster General, will in April next succeed General Sir C. 11, Ellice as Adjutant General of the forces. An extensive conflagration at Boston, U.S., resulttd in the destruction of property to the value of half a million dollars.
