St. Matthews Church. Dunedin, is in a had way, its existing liabilities, which are the outcome of the accumulated annual deficien cies, being of such magnitude, and some of such a pressing nature, that immediately, hearty and united co-operation is absolutely imperative if the church is to be kept open. •Trom an analy-is of the past nine months it is found that the average attendance is 450 in the morning and 700 in Ihe evening, or an estimated total of 1 150. The average morning offertory is £5 2s fid ; and the evening £7. The average coins are 4 half-crowns, ;G florins, 80 shillings, 200 sixpences, .1 fourpences, 145 threepences, and 9 coppers, or a total of 447 coins. From this fully 75 must : be deduated for persons who contribute morning ank evening, leaving no less a number than 780 persons who attend the church, and habitually decline to contribute Howards the expenses.
