An English paper gives the following account of an extraordinary ceremony, combining the marriage and burial services in one. Miss E. Main waring, 20 years of age was buried in Portsmouth Cemetery on the sth September. The deceased, who was the daughter of an officer in the army, was about to be married, her trousseau and that of her bridesmaids having been provided, but she was seized with fatal illness, to which she succumbed a few days ago. It was, therefore arranged to go through, as far as possible, the marriage ceremony before her body was interred, and, accordingly, several weddiDg carnages were provided for the accomodation of the friends, the coffin being conveyed upon a bier from Southsea to Holy Trinity Urarch, Portsea, followed by her friends in weddiog eostame, the deceased's wreath of orange blossoms being placed at the head of the coffin. The Rev. T. D. Platt and other clerymen officiated, and, after reading the marriage, that for funerals was proceeded with, after which the cortege proceeded to the Portsmouth Cemetery, where the interment took place. Two muscular men of Kildare, Arkansas, agreed to settle their quarrel with a single blow of the fist, to be struck by the winner ol a tossed coin, and unresistingly received by the loser anywhere above the belt.
