Mb. Levestam has the honor of being the firet elected European member of the new Parliament, he baviDg been returned unop posed to-day. Tha nomination did not appear to excite much interest. A meeting of the Naval Brigade was held at the Volunteer C mmittee Room last niaht, when there were over fifty preient. Arms, &c, having been served out, the meeting adjourned to Monday next Me Richmond invites the electors to meet him at the lower Bchoolroom, Suburban North, to morrow evening, and at Appleby on Thursday, at 7-30 in each case. As inspection parade of the City Rifles will be held to-night when, the money having arrived from Wellington, those who were at the front will receive further advances on the amounts due to them.
