The Nelson Vo'unteers desire to thank you for ycur remarks in reply to the ietier of " Member of the E. B." They feel greatly indignant at Mr Rout's " nvsEquernding" expression &s reported in the Evesixg Matt., and v.ish to stnte that they feel it to be a gr at piece of selfish ingiatitude on his pan, an insult. tothfm9elves, and a slight passed on the endurance thsfc their obedience to the call of duty hag called opnn them to f xercise, but whi^h they are willing to undergo for their country. How does " masquerading " agree wi:h long niaiehes in heavy order ; sleeping out without covering ; getting wet to the skin ; rouih living; guard tickets duty on cold and wet eights, besides frequent and arduous drills ?
