A fatal accident occurred at 230 to-day to a seaman on board the Hawea while discharging cargo. A heavy bale was being hoisted from the hold, which gave way and struck the seaman on the head, jamming it againßt an iron staunchion and causing almost instantaneous death. Monday. An inquest was held on the body of M'Lean who was killed on board the Hawea on Saturday, and a verdict of accidental death was returned.
