Adelaide, Friday. Wheat is quoted to-day at 5s to 5s 6d. The tone of the market is firm. Town flour -£12 5s ; country br*nde £11 15s to £12. Freights to London per steamer 55s ; per sailing ship 42s 6d. Saturday. Whpat remains firm st 5a 3d to 5s 6d. Town flour is quoted at £12 5s to £12 10a and country brands £1! 10a to £11 15s, Stdnhy, Saturday. Two [fresh cases of smallpox have been reported to the Health Board to-day. The sufferers are a girl residing at Woollahara, and James O'Neill in Abercrombie street. j A number of persona were released from the quarantine station last night. They are, however, reticent as to tho treatment they have received pending legal advice. Enough has, however, transpired to show that there has been gros« neglect and mismanagement at the Btation. It is Btated that the shoes and clothes of those in quarantine were destroyed and were never replaced. Facts which have come to light bare created a deep sensation and feeling of indignation Brisbane, Saturday. In the action for libel brought by Mr Perkins, Minister for Lands, against the Evangelical Standard in which damages were laid at £2000, a verdict has been returned for the plaintiff with £3 damages and costs.
