CORRESPONDENCE.
To THE EDITOB OF THE "EVENING MAIL.
Sib,— ln your last night's issue your correspondent M. M Webster seems very wrath at our Mayor, J R. Dodson, and hints that had he, M. M. "Webster, purchasrd his beer from the Neison Brewery he, the Mayor, would cot bave betn so ready jn putting the police on the scent of unstamped beer. lam in that happy state of m^nd tbat I can sympathise with both M. M. Webster and J. li. Dcdson. lam one of those who believe ia free trade even in that vile article beer and I go so far as to say that it r.ught' to extend even lo school teaching. I know of one ease not a thousand miles away from tbe Sun Brewery, where thr=e or four out of one family are receiving public moneys from the Education Board for school teaching. Now tbis is anything but free trade in this line, and here tbe old Litin proverb singularly applies, viz ,Ne si tor ultra crepidam. This, as you will observe, applies to either shoemakers (wbo play up wonderful tricks at times) brewers or schoolteachers. Hoping tha Education Board will see it in the same light.— l am, &c, Oesebvanda,
