Mr Buckeridge iurther states that his Company were unable to work their ground owing to great jealousies between the two Cdmpahies, and the high charges imposed upon them by the •Perseverance Company for the use of! the water and the right to work from the j 'Perseverance V ground. Mr Buckeridge concludes his memo by saying, "but owing to the great expense which it appeared! would be necessary and to the Company's I Capital being exhausted, the claim was I ultimately abandoned, although the Share- ! holders and others believe that there is a I - a^? ! ..amount of Gold on their own and the I Perseverance ' claims." | The «f Perseverance Company" worked I their ground from an incline shaft, and! having inadequate pumping apparatus, were I prevented from .continuing, work, .a report of j Mr J C. -Richmond's to the Shareholders of I the Perseverance Company," advocated I operations from either Bedstead 'Gully or| Kelly's Creek. A i deposit or lode, 6ft. wide, containing Yellow Sulphate of Copper in large quantity, was found in the "Perseverance Company's"; ground, .and found by assay to yield about 30 per cent of copper, and it was also found rich in gold. Assay returns of Galena have given over 70 per cent of lead and 30ozs. i Silver to the ton. ' \ . The Mine is an exceptionally good property! The failure of former Companies is- traceable ! to a very great extent to the want of experi-i enced control over those working in the Mine. I and proper economy in working expenses.
