London, August 11. Arrived — Ships Westfa, from Lyttelton ; Westland, from Timaru ; and Havelah, from Osmaru. In the House of Loros to-day, Earl Kimberley stated in reply to a question, that the British Government had decided not to sever any portion of the Transvaal occupied by Boers from territory which had been assigned to the South African Republic by the Transvaal Convention. August 12. In the House of Commons last uight the report on the amendments made by the House of Lord3 in tho Irish Land Bill was again under consideration. A long and animated debate took place on some of the amended clauses, Beveral of which were rejected, as altered, while the amendmants to she others were agreed to. Some violent speeches were made in the course of the discussion by the Irish member 0, who accused the Government of acting with treachery aud with pandering to the wishes of the House of Lords. The debate laated till four o'clock this morning when the consideration of the amendments was finally concluded, nnd the Bill wa3 returned to the Home of Lords,
Consols have advanced to tOOf . The totsl reserve in notes and bullion m the Back of England is £13,000,000. New Zealand securities are unchanged. Adelaide and New 'Zealand breadstuffs and Australian tallow are without quotable chaDge. There is a fair demand for most descriptions of Australian hidea.
