On that date it i3 intended to transfer tha Post Office at the latter place to the Railway Station. At the Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday bpfore Mr Guinness, R.M., andHi3 Worship the Mayor, Thomas Brown was charged with having stolen from the premises of Mr Beck, Brkige-efreet, an earthern jar, of the value of 7s. The prisoner was arrested at midnight by Constable O'Brien who observed him leaving the premises of Mr Beck, soda water manufacturer, carrying a f-aik On the approach of the constable he threw the sack, which contained the jar, over a fence. As the prisoner was an old offender, the Bench sentenced him to six months imprisonment with hard labor. A rumor is now current (saya the Marlborough Times) to the effect that it is Mr H. We give tbe rumor for what it is worth, merely remarking that Mr Dodson will doubtless secure a certain proportion of Mr Henderson's following.
