DETERMINED SUICIDE.

Ha web a, Tuesday. A surveyor named Thomas Anderson blew bis brains out yesterday with a carbine. He was in charge of the survey at the back of Mokaia on the Native reserve, and started out with his party, and when he got out a short distance he told the men to go on and he would follow. He went back to the tent and committed the act. The cook cooeyed to the men, who retarned, but life was extinct. Deceased came to New Zealand seven yearß ago, and was one of the [surveyors turned off the Waimate Plains by the natives. For tbe last few dayß he had been despondent and hardly spoke a word.
