London, July 31. Arrived— Ship Romeo, from Lyttelton, sailed April 22nd; and Orient Company's steamship Chimborazo, with the Australian mails from Melbourne, sailed Jnne 14.
Telegrams have been received from Ireland reporting that MrSwanton, the landlord of the Bally Debol estate* was shot yesterday. The police are making enquiries into the matter, but up to the present time have found no trace of the murderers.
Cape Town, July 31. Telegrams are to hand from Pretoria announcing that the final negotiations between the Royal Commissioners and the Boer leaders [have been satisfactorily completed; aud that the Convtention was sighed yesterday.
Cat-cotta, August 1 , News has been received from OanjJahar to the effect that shortly after the battle of Karsz Ulaiyar. Ayoub Khan marched jcorthward with all his forces, and haa arrived before the fcity of Candahar.
