"Further telegrams from Afghanistan report that the battle between Ayoub's and the Ameer's troops was fought at Karezieatta (Karez Illaiyar), a short distance south of Candahar. Since their defeat all the Ameer's cavalry have joined Ayoiib Kban, whose force ha3 been materially strengthened. The Ameer'a garrison in the city of Candahar is reported to be very weak, and unable to offer any strong resistance to Ayoub.
