NELSON WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The Board met yesterday. — Present • Commissioners Barnicoat, Bird, Kerr, Sharp Waatcey, and Chief Commissioner Greenfield. Pkospectuto Licenses.— A. D. Bayfeild'a applications for 1000 acres and 640 acres, i^eefton District, were further considered together with the Warden's report thereon. Resolved, That licensee be granted for six months from the Ist August next subject to the following conditions :-(l) That existing rights or privileges (if any) shall not be interfered with. (2) That the licensee shall not prevent the holders of Miner's Rights from prospecting for gold or from obtaining a gold mining lease or taking up ordinary Claims within the boundary of the licenses. The undermentioned licenses were renewed tor six months, subject to prior rights (if any) viz.:— T. R. Hacketj License No. 115, Aniseed Valley. T. It. Hacket, License No. 90, Croixelles. . Hacket and Roberts, License No. 98, Wairoa T. R. Hackett, License No. 101, Maungatapu. Hacket and Roberts, License No. 56, Ani- ? seed Valley. An application from Mr Thomas Mackay for a lease of 500 acres of the Harbour Regerve adjoining the Drumduan property was postponed for further enquiry. Land held under Lease assessed for Sale.— Section 36, Square 5, 10s per acre ; Section 104, Ngatimoti, 10s per acre; Sections 8 to 10, Ohika Survey District, lSs per acre. Crown Lands enclosing extracts from Warden's (Collingwood) annual report and the Chief Commissioner's reply thereto! A telegram was received from the County Chairman* Inangahua, objecting to the lease applied lor;by Alexander Duncan, and the Keenee applied for by Duncan Brothers Devery's Terrace, the ground being required for travelling stock and commonage. Postponed for further inquiry.
