The Kennedy is dae at Wanganui from Greymouth this evening. Tbe Charles Edward sailed yesterday for West Coast ports. The Murray leaves for Wellington at 5 o'clock this afternoon, and may be expected back on Wednesday morning. The Wallace reached Greymouth this morning, and leaves there to-morrow morning for Hokitika and the Sounds. The Wanaka arrived at Ooehunga at 9 am. yesterday, and leaves on the downward tripito-roorrow morning. Tbe Taiaroa left Wellington at 1 p.m. today, will arrive here to-morrow morcing, and sail by ihe epme ti<?e at 9 30 a.m. for Picton, Weliiogton, Lyttelton, a d Dunedin. Toe Hawea has been docked at Port Chains're. The Waitaki takea her place and comes as far aa Wellington, where she wil! tranship her cargo and p6ssergers into tbe Tahroa and then return to Dunedin. Tbe latter fteawer makes the trip North frcm Wellington, leaving there on Thursday. Tbe Wakatu bas been to Lyttelton with c cargo of cattle from Patea.- She left the latter port on Friday night for Patea, Wanganui. and Nelßon. and is expected to arrive here to-morrow mo'niag. She sails for Blenheim, Wellington, Patea, and Wanganui the same day. The Grafton left Timaru at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, arriving at Oamaru at 11 p.m.; sailed at 4 20 p.m. on Thursday, and reached Lyttelton at 10 a.m. on Friday; left at 5 20 p.m. S£me Hay for Wellington, and arrived thereat 11-45 a.m. on Saturday; sailed at 720 pm. yesterday, and reached here at 745 *> m. to day- She brings 85 tons of cargo for this port. Since the Grafton waa last here she has been on the Patent Slip at Wellington, where she underwent a thorough overhaul, ard was supplied with two new propellors, v. hich drive ber along at a pace exceeding 10 knots an honr. She sails for Westport and Greymouth at 3 p.m. The cutter M;rsey, tbe latest addition to onr already numerous coasting fleet, arrived frcm Onehnnga via Waitapu yesterday morning under tbe command of Captain Paul. She is a wholesome-looking craft- of 18 tonsregister, built at Onebunga in 187? by Thos. Sharp, and is of the following dimensions: — Length, 41 feet; breadth, 14 feet; deptb, 6 feet. She is constructed of kauri, and is coppered, and copper-fastened throughout She carries 16.000 feet of timber on . a draught; of sft 6in. Tbe Mersey is a capital sealjoat, and she gave evidence of this on the passage from Onehacpa p to Waitapu, when 8 h avy NE. gale *&i experienced, daring which she was hove-to for 27 hours, the sea running mountains bigh. Two coasting vessels r>f nearly double the tonnage of the Mersey which left in company with her were compelled to return to port, being unable to weather ont the gale. During to-day she waa inspected by several nautical critics, who greatly admired her general appearance She has be*>n purchased by Messrs H. Baigent and Co. to trade between Nelson and Waitapn, and is announced to sail forthe latter port to-morrow afternoon.
