CORRESPONDENCE.
To TnE Editor of the " Evening Mail." Sir - S,me time ago there appeared in the Education Board's advertisements tha following t — '* Wanted, assistant teacher for Girls' school, Brightwater, &c." By the report of the Board's May meeting we were informed that the names of the three mo3t eligible candidates had beeu forwarded tothe local Committee for them to appoint whom they might think was the moat fitted for the position. I bave been informed on good authority that the Committee have come to the decision not to appoint any of them. As this school his beeu opened for boys — years of age, hence the necessity for an assistant. The decision of the Committee ba3 naturally peip'exed a greattnany who are interested in the matter. Now, Sir, I would like to know what is the uae of the Board advertising, examining, recommending, and so forth if the local Committee is to ignore their wishes. Perhaps some one will kindly furnish an explanation of what appears to bej a moat extraordiuary proceeding on the part of the Committee, and oblige One of the many Anxious Parents. Biightwaler, Juue 11, 1881.
