ARRIVAL OF THE ELECTRA.
This barque arrived at the outer anchorage at 5 p m. ou Saturday after a passage of 112 days from London. She left there on November o, and cleared the Channel on November 13 ; experienced strong westerly gales, which lasted for 8 days \ passed Mndeira on November 2S ; picked up the N.TS. Trades, which proved to be light, in lat. 20degs N., ami lost them in lat. 6dejs N.; crossed the Equator on December 18 iu long, 2639 W. ; g(,t the SE. Trades iu lat. 4degs N., and carried them to 25degs S., they having been variable throughout ; passed the meridian of tre Cape on January 16 at midnight, and lad southerly winds 1o Cape Leuwin, which was passed at midnight on February 12 ; then strong southerly winds to Tasmania, which place was passed on February 18; from thence experienced strong northerly winds, sighting Cape Farwell at daybreak ou Saturday, aud arriving here as aboyp. On December 17th sighted ship Cochin, of Greenock, nnd on the 23rd of the same month exchanged signals with the barque Sooth Esk, of Dundee, from Cardifi' to Singapore, 35 days out. The Electra brings 6 passengers and a full cargo. She is under the command o£ Captain Thomson, and has been trading to New Zealand for several years, her last voyage being to the Bluff. She was towed into harbor by thp Charles EJward this morning, and be; the I alocgßiele the Railway Wharf, whore she will commence discharging about Wednesday. Messrs Sclanders and Co. are the agents.
