Passengers: Mr nnd Miss Tennent, Mrs and Miss Edmunds, Comedy Troupe (14). 23, steamer Stella, 156, Gray, for Collingwood.

The steamer Stella arrived from Wellington nt 1 o'clock fchis morning, and after landing some ammunition, targets, &c, sailed half an hour Inter for Collingwood. She will probably call in here to-night on her wr.y to Wellington. The Grafton arrived from Wellington and Lyttelton at 9 a.m. to-day, and sails tor Westpcrt and Grey mouth at 4 p m. ■ The next steamer for Sydney will be the Wakatipu, which leaves Wellington on Tuesday. Passengers leave here by the Wanaka to-morrow. The Wanaka left New Plymouth this morning, will arrive here to-cigbt, and sail at noon to-morrow for Picton, Wellington, and Lyttelton. Tho Penguin will arrive here from Southern ports early on Saturday morning, and sail at 3 p.m. same day for Wellington, Taranaki, and Manukau, with- the outward San Francisco mail. The Murray arrived at Wellington this morning, and loaves for Nelson on Friday afternoon. The Kennedy leaves Wellington for Nelson to-night. The Charles Edward arrived at Westpovfe at noon to-day, and leaves this afternoon for Hokilika. The Wallace sailed for Wangamii last night, and leaves on the return trip tomorrow. A new line of steamships is entering into Australian trade. The steamer Gulf of Finland was to be the first of the Thames and Mersey lino of Australian packets, and was Announced to leave the East India Docks on December 1 1 for Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney. She is owned by the Greenock Steamship Company, having been built specially for the Australian trade, to accomplish the passage in 45 days. She is 2225 tons register, 1475 horse power, and commanded by Captain G. W. Allen. The other vessels to follow are t\ e Gulf of St. Vincent, 2400 tons; aad the Gulf of Carpentaria, 2500 tons.
