Recently he, in conjunction with ex-Judge Weston, addressed a crowded meeting of the Working. Men's Club and Shool of Arts in Christchurch, when the project was well received. He has also received a letter from Sir Julius Vogel, to the effect that if a favorable route could be discovered there would bs no difficulty in obtaining the necessary funds for constructing the railway in, London.
