AUSTRALIANS V. NELSON. Having had lunch the Außtraliana were driven to Victory Square in a coach and four, where they found every preparation had been mode to get the ground in good order, the result being that there was a capital pitch, and the ground being altogether in good condition. Fowler and Fayen going to the wickets amidst great cheering to the bowling of Spofforth and Palmer, the former taking first ball from Spofforth. Mr Topliss was umpire for Nelson and Mr Price for the Australians. Spofforth delivered a maiden to Fowler. Palmer opened nt the other end and the last of bis over Fayen cut prettily for a couple.
