A NEW EXCITEMENT AT INVERCARGILL.
Invjbroxrgill, Thursday. ; At a meeting of (be congregation of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church last night it was decided that instrumental music should be introduced, The instrument was not
named bat it was understood that it was to be an organ. Mr Speake opposed the change and moved that a cornet be employed, which led to a suggestion that there should be bagpipes also. One advocate of music said that instruments such as a harp and trumpet were associated with Heaven, but there was no mention of any in the Bible as connected with the "other place," and even in profane writing he only knew of one instrument likely to bo found there aud that was the bagpipes.
