TOWN SCHOOLS COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Town Schools Education Committee was held last evening and the following important resolutions among others were passed. 1. That in consequence of the large number of pupils attending the Toi toi Valley schools and receiving instruction under the standards, the Committee decide with regret to exclude all children who are either too young or not sufficiently advanced in learning to commence standard work. 2. That the pupils in Toi toi Valley schools engaged in the works of standards 1 and 2 be removed from the centre room to the one on the south Bide in charge of Miss Newton ; and those in charge of Mrs Hansen in standards 3 and 4, together with those who are ready for promotion from Miss Newton's division, to be placed in the large room in the centre, under the charge of Mrs Hansen ; and, as the number is much beyond the teaching power of oDe person, Miss Brown on the removal of the Infant division be appointed temporary assistant to Mrs Hansen. 3. That an application be made to the Board to provide Bomewhere in the neighborhood of the present school, immediate accommodation for the infant division which it has been found necessary to exclude from the Toiloi Valley girl's school, as it is highly undesirable for various reasons to draft them either to the old school, Haven road, or to send them to mix with the boys in the new one. The Committee would suggest to the Board the advisability of erecting a room, capable of accommodating GO children, on the grounds of the Toi-toi Valley school on the south side of the present building.
