The Graf ten appears to have had a lively time of it on Monday night dining tho passage from this port to Wellington. Shortly after len\ing the French Pass a violent b. W . squall struck the steamer, carrying away the foremast head, which iu its descent brought the maimorniast with it. The spars fell on deck with a loud crash, and caused some little consternation among thepassengers, but fortunately no one was injured. The Wwaka left Onelmnpa fit 430 p.m p.m. on Tuesday, and arrived off New Plymouth at 8 a.m. yesterday. Here :i heavy eea was running, end after utiug signalled to from the ehore thKt it was 100 rough for the surf boat to put off, the steamer pro ceeded on to Kelson, and arrived here at 530 a.m. to-day, tbe engines hiving been slowed from the time of entering the bay. She Bails for Picton, Welltcgtou, aud Lytteltou this afternoon. A barque that has arrived at Yokohama. Japan, reports that she boarded the British ship Gnernium, from Hongkoug for San Francisco. The ship bad been on her beam ends, but was obliged to cut away her masts to lighten the vessel. She also lost her boats. She will be brought to Yokohama for repairs. A telegram from Singapore, dated Nov. 12, says the barque Cutty Sark arrived th re that morning from Aujer in charge of the second officer, who reports that the chief officer struck one of the crew at that port, the man dying soon after from the effects, it is supposed, of tbe blow. The master appears to have assisted the chief officer to escape on hoard an American ship bound to Saigon, and to have afterwards drowned himself.
