The Clio arrived at Lyttelton from Waitapu this morning. The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay last night. The Wallace was unable to leave Greymouth yesterday owing to the dirty N.W. weather. The Murray leaves for Wanganui at midnight to-night, weather permitting. The Charles Edward is due at Weslport this afternoon.

Owing to. the unfavorable state of the weather to-day the Lady Barkly did not slart for Motueka, but she will make a trip there to-morrow, leaving here at 10 a.m. The Hawoa left Port Chalmers at l"30 p.m. on Monday, and arrived at Lyttelton on Tuesday morning; sailed at 5 p.m. same day, and reached Wellington on Wednesday morning; left at 12-30 pm. yesteriay, called at Picton, and arrived here at two o'clock this morning. Fine weather was experienced along the coast. She brings the Rotorua's mails, which were sent overland to Lytteltbn. She sails for Taranaki and Manukau this afternoon.

The Wanaka left Onehunga at 12*30 p.m. on Wednesday, and arrived off Taranaki at S a.m. yesterday; sailed 10 minutes before noon, and arrived here at 3 a.m. to-day. No «argo was landed at New Plymouth on the upward trip, as she did not reach there until nearly dusk on Monday, having steamed against a N.W. gale from Wellington, and as •he had the outward San Francisco mails on baard she pushed on to Onehunga, and arrived there on Tuesday in sufficient time to admit of the mails reaching Auckland before the departure of the Zealandia. When the Wanaka arrived off Taranaki yesterday, she bad about 130 tons of cargo to land there, the greater portion of which was put into the aarf boats, but as she had to catch the early morning tide here she proceeded on her voyage with about 20 tone, which was transhipped into the Hawea to-day. She sailed for Picton, Wellington, and Lyttelton at 1 o'clock this afternoon.
