The following important features in. tbe practice of Mutual Life Assu"anoe were adopted r.ad first introduced into these Colonies by the National Mutual :— lst-~Thit no Member's Policy shall be allowed to lapse on account of tbe Nonpayment of any Premium, so long as it bas a Surrender Value sufficient to pay the Premium overdue. 2nd.— That no Member shall be compelled to pay a higher Premium on his Policy tban that pet opposite to his age in the Table of Rates. 3rd.— That the Age of Members shall be taken as at nearest Birthday. 4th —Profits are divided every Three Years 6lh —Settlement Policies, which relieve from the expenses attending the preparation of a Deed of Settlement, and from the necessity of troubling friends to become Trustees.
