CAPE NEWS.

(Per Cotopaxi.) Capetown, Oct. 10. The attack on Maffeting waa followed up by an attack on Nibarna Hocka, a 6tnall station garrisoned by thirteen Europeans under Mr. Surmon, and some twenty native police. Twice has thia little band^ been opposed by a party of Basutos estimated at 3,000 men, but on each occasion the assailants have been beaten off. The position of the little garrison was, however, so critical that ifc was determined to effect their relief, _nd on Monday last a column, 200 strong, marched in and brought out the garrison. The rebels opposed the inarch, bufc unsuccessfully, losing a number of men. The British' lost only one man killed and five wounded. A fine rain has fallen and the harvest prospects are good.
