CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the " Evening Mail." Sir— Will you be bo good as to give space for the following information as to to-mor-row's gathering of children. If the weather is fiue enough, the programme as already settled will be literally carried out by the procession from the railway station to the Botanical Reserve. If it is so wet as to render it unwise to do this, it is arranged to have the children's meeting in the Theatre Royal, and possibly we may be only able to go to the Botanical Gardens and return immediately to tbe Theatre Royal, but this cannot be determined till to morrow. Tbe Committee are much gratified by the interest exhibited in tbe good attendances so far, considering the unfavorable weather, but that has bad a setious effect on their finances. They hoped to have had but one collection, but as the expenses of such a gathering on the most moderate scale are large, a collection will be made ou the occasion of the children's gathering. Tbe idea of the Ccmmittee in arranging for the children's gathering was to have something of special interest for them, and so a memorial has been constructed with appropriate inscriptions and mottoes, anj the cbildreu are invited to decorate thi3 with floral wreaths ; it is hoped that there will be amoog them a number of bouquets, which, at sunset, will be distributed, wilh leave of the authorities, to the Hospital, Asylum, and Gaol, and so do double duty, and be a source of legitimate pleasure to some of our people, afflicted in mind, body, or estate. Yours, &c., A. B. Nelson, Chairman S.S.C. C
