After nine weeks' medical treatment it waa declared necessary by Dr. Macgillivray to amputate the injured limb. The daughter of Mr Junghenn, suffering from disease of the bone, ss pronounced by Drs Atkinßon and Boyd, was cure.3 just as speedily. Cures of wnooping cough, very severe colds, croup, bronchitis, diptheria, earache, pains in the head (neuralgia), inflammation of the eyes and that of a severely injured foot ; others of bad legs, wound on the arm with enormous swelling, oi severe bruises and a sprained ankle, (H. Brown), in wbich case eight months' medical advice was of no avail, are reported by tbe " Donald Times," "Newcastle Morning Herald/ " Cooktown Courier," " Yorke'a Peninsula Advertiser," and others. The extract inwardly taken, regulates the action of the kidneys, cures dysentry and diarrhoea, and is tbe eureßt curative agent and preventive of contagion in scarlet typhoid raid intermittent' fever.
