CORRESPONDENCE.

To TnE Editor op the " Evening Mail." Sib,— l suppose the greater portion of the community in Nelson and surroundiug districts are interested in the forthcoming centenary celebration in honor of the founder of the justly admired Sunday School system, the central point of interest in which will be the gathering in the Botanical Eeserve of the children attending the schools. in and around Nelson. Without wishing to be officious I should like to point out to the Cdrnmittee that they have selected a most inconvenient day for the services of this part of tbe celebration. I would ask them to remember that Saturday is the preparation day for the day of rest and worship, and that mothers do not care to set aside their thorough weekly cleaning to dress their childreu for any occasion without good and sufficient reason, besides which ifc effectually shuts them out from a sight that would gladden their hearts. The Committee should alao remember that there are many of our business men who would gladly attend the celebration, but who would fiud it impossible to close their places of busiuess on that day If the Committee will allow me I would suggest that they choose a day nearer the middle of the week, and iuvite tbe public to make a general holiday, and I think, and not without reason, that town and country will heartily respond and attendthat day's celebration almost en masse. — I am, &c, A Well Wisher.
