DARING JEWEL ROBBERY.

High society at home has again been startled by a seriotts jewellery robbery In the present case the lady is of high degree, and had* spent the evening ai the ball gi^en by the Pripee and JPrinoeßS of V Wales at Marlborough House, where, independently of .her beauty, ehe had been remarkable for the splendor of her tiara and oth@i diamond ornaments, including a riviere pf rarest beauty. On her return home at about 430, being weary, she took off some of. the ornaments in her dress-ing-room, end omitted to lock tbem up before retiring to rest. The next morning the lady's-maid, startled her noble mistress by asking what she had done with tbe jewels, that they were then found to be missing; and notice was at once. sent to the police, who placed all the household under veillance. There are several remarkable features in this robbery ; v the first is. tbat tbe more yaluable articles, such as the diadem, were left, while the smaller [ornaments were stolen, and no trace ot them has yet been found ; the second curious feature iB, that the robbery must have been effected. in ««■ '.'
