WELLINGTON V. NELSON.
The Wellington football team arrived from I Auckland by the Hawea this morning, and ', shortly after eleven o'clock the game -was commenced in the Po 'anical Reserve. To all the spectators it was very evident that the i Nelson team was over-weighted, and a win for ■ Wellington wag foretold from the first, but [ few were prepared, for the gallant struggle ', made' by our local players, who gave their ' visitors very hard work to beat them. Towards the close of the match, however, the greater weight and superior training of the Wellingtonians began to tell, and when time was called the score. stood thus : — Wellington 11 points ; Nelson 4. We must reserve a fuller report of the match until to-morrow.
