Captain Edwin reported at 12*24 p.m.: — "Bad weather approaching; any direction between north-east and north and west, and further fall of glass. There are strong indications of rain." The Lyttelton left Blenheim for Nelson yesterday afternoon. The Charles Edward arrived at Wellington this morning, and returns this evening. The Wanaka arrived at Wellington at. 5 a m. to-day, and was to leave there for Lyttelton at 1 p.ra t The Hawea will arrive early to mo? mv mrroing, and sail for Picton, Wellinj.t)n, and Lyttelton at four o'clock in the alt;rnoon. The Taiaroa leaves Wellington at noon tomorrow, will arrive here ou Friday m>: n ivg, and sail for Taranaki and Manukau at 5 p.m. same day. The Grafton is expected to arrive here from Wellington to-morrow morning. She is announced to sail for West Coast ports at 1 p.m. The Wakatipu will be the next steamer for Sydney. She leaves Wellington on Saturday, and passengers for her will be forwarded by the Hawea to-morrow. The Syren, from Newcastle, should put in an appearance in a day or two. The Croydon Lass is due from Kaiapoi, and should show up shortly. The stcaner Northumberland leaves London this month for New Zealand, under < harter to the New Zealand Shipping Company. She loads at Lyttelton for Home. While the Lady Barkly was returning from Motueka yesterday the crank pin suddenly broke, thereby rendering the steamer helpless. A boat was at once despatched here for assistance, and the steam launch Tainui was sent out to tow the Lady Barkly into port, which she did at three o'clock this morning. Owing to the accident her departure for Golden Bay has been postponed till 3 p.m. to morrow.
