Passengers: Mrs Smith, Coates, Marlow, Holmes, Dickson, and 6 steerage. SAILED. Sept. 13, steamer Wakatu, 78, Evans, for Wangauui and Wellington. — cutter Goldseeker, 12, Watts, for Havelock. — cutter Dart, 16, Ricketts, for Waikawa Bay. — ketch Argus, 36, Williams, for Awaroa. 14, steamer Lady Barkly, 30, Walker, for Motueka. — steamer Wanaka, 276, Edie,. for Picton, Wellington, and South. Passengers: Misses Alexander, M'Mahon, Forbes (2), Nairn, Master Forbes, Messrs Wiesenhaven, Reeves, Holmes, Foy, Russel, Coates, Nairu, Dixon, Durand, Morley, Sutherly.
The Lady Barkly leaves on her usual trip to Golden Bay at 3 p.m. to-morrow. The Wakatu sailed for Wanganui and Wellington last evening The Wallace leaves for West Coast ports at 7 a.m. on Thursday. The Murray arrived at Westport yesterday, aud should reach Hokitika to-day. The Charles Edward arrived from the West Coast this morning, and leaves for Wellington at 5 o'clock this afternoon. The Patea is expected to arrive here from Patea, with a cargo of live stock, about Thursday next. Toe Hawea leaves Onehunga this after noon, will arrive here tomorrow night, and Bail for Pictou, Wellington, and South at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The Wanaka left Lyttelton at 930 p.m. on Saturday, and arrived at Wellington at 3-30 p.m. on Sunday ; sailed at 1 p.m. yesterday, called at Pictou, and reached here • early this morning. She sailed for Picton, Wellington, aud South this afternoon. The steamers Hiuemoa and Taiaroa had an exciting race between Wellington and Lyttelton one day last week. There was a • very heavy sea and head wind, and in the seaway the Taiaroa had the best of the race, but as soon as the sea went down the Government steamer passed her opponent, and reached Lyttelton some few minutes in advance of "the Taiaroa, notwithstanding the reduction of 10 per cent of her screw.
