AN ATTACK ON AYUB KHAN IMMINENT. Calcutta, September 1. Later intelligence has just been received from Candahar that a difficulty has arisen and the negotiations for peace have been broken off. General Eoberts has decided to attack Ayub Khan at Argandab to day. September 2. Further intelligence has been received from Candahar regarding the negotiations which were (commenced between Ayub Khan and General Eoberbs. Tho former wrote a letter in an apologistio tone, saying he had been forced into hostilities with General Burrows. General Eoberfcs replied demanding the surrender of all prisoners, and the unconditional submission of Ayub. These terms he would not accept.
