EDWARD JOHN GOX, MANAGER AUCKLAND BRANCH. 3461-— l2mo NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNDER the. Distinguished Patronage ol \J_ his Majesty tbe King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated Mth March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucah ptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious'; but as the qualities of both of tbe products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be ot value as a medicament ih cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the s>in. Any blistering brought on by the application ot a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc., the curative power ol our extract on the named diseases being, unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased * Tbe truth of our assertion ie founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to comnon turpentine, its market value . being.about tbree„ shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its efftcts, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, tbe genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials $ vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature., SANDER & SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract.
