So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences vould not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider, it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts :— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be oi value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the sbin. Any blistering brought en by the applica- : tion ot a medicament must increase inflammation, and it lis theretore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, : croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power ot our extract on the named diseases . being- unquestionably proved by former publications in tbis paper. An application of the oil instead of onr extract must impair tbe diseased 1 The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to comrr on turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound wfejght ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, eoottyng -and healing in its efffcts, its price beiDg twent^rfour shillings for one pound weight, Our' extract, tbe genuine article is only made up in half-ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
