The Murray arrrivr d from Wellington last evenine, and will snil for the West Coast at 7*30 this evpning. The Kennedy was placed on the cradle this nv >rtiing. The Grafton is expected to arrive here from the West C<mst to-mnrrow. She iR announced to sail for Wellington and Lyttelfon thp snnifi riav. The Charles Edward left Wpstport last night, and was eomiosr up the buy witcn we went to press. She leaves for Wellington to-mnrrow at 7 p.m. The topsail schooner signalled yesterday proved to be one passing across the bay, probably bound for Waitapu. The crew of the Murray report a curious phenomenon in the Straits yesterday morning. A large number of dead ling flsh, averaging four and five feet in length, were seen floni ing on their backs. The Victoria was towed to sea by the Murray this afternoon, and set sail for Newcastle. She has on board a quantity of potatoes for the Australian market. The Taiaroa leaves Wellington at noon to-morrow, will arrive here on Friday morning, and aail for Taranaki and Manukau at I p.m. In consequence of the non-arrival of the Australia at Auckland the Hawea has been detained at Onehuuga until to-morrow to bring down the Southern portion of the mail.
