MAGISTRATES' COURT.
[Before H. E. Curtis and W. Wastney, Esqs., J.J.P.] Fell and Atkinson v. South (a solicitor at Hokitika.)— Action to recover £10 professional costs. Judgment for amount claimed and costs. Buckeridge v. Ha rford.— Claim for £5 14s 6d, balance of amount overdrawn on wool — Judgment for amount claimed and costs, to be paid in weekly instalments of £1. Scaly v. Flowers —Action to recover £4 Is 6d for professional costs. Judgmeut for amount claimed and costs. Mr Moore appeared for the plaintiff. Defendant did not appear. Milner v. Watty.— Judgment summons for £5 18s. Mr Moore appeared for the plaintiff. Order made for payment of £3 by the sth September, and the balance at the end of the month. Patteraon v. Lovejoy. — Claim for £7 2s lid, balance of account due. Mr Bunny appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Percy Adams for tho defendant. Patterson v. Hesketh.— Claim for £16 8s 9d for goods supplied. Mr Bunny appeared ' for the plaintiff, and asked that the actions against Lovejoy and Hesketh might be proceeded with together, as there was a partnership between them. Mr Percy Adams, for Lovejoy, objected to this, and stated that no such partnership existed. The Bench decided to take the cases one at a time, but after hearing the evidence they came to the conclusion that there had been a partnership, and gave judgment for the two amounts together, the total being £23 11s Bd, and costs upon that amount £4 9s. Patterson v. Brown. — Claim for £7 3a 6d for goods supplied. Judgment for amount claimed, £5 to be paid in three weeks, and the balance in two months, and costs. Mr Bunny appeared for the plaintiff. Roberts v. Lovejoy. — Action to recover £3 19s Id for goods supplied. Judgment by confession with costs. G. Cotton v. Lovejoy. — Claim for £8 2s. Judgment by confession with costs.
