ARRIVED.
Aug. 21, cutter Maid of Italy, 15, Clarke, from Riwaka. 22, steamer Lytcelton, 86, Scott, from Blenheim. — steamer Wakatu, 78, Evans, from Wanganui. Passengers: Master Cooper, Messrs Laird, Reid, Jackson. Raikes, Hood, Blackburn, Jones, Burton, Young. SAILED. Aug. 22, steamer Graf ton, 156, Johnston, for West Coast. — schooner Dido, 56, Johnston, for Lyttelton via Waitapu. 23, schooner Uno, 28, Bullard, for Croixelles. — schooner Australian Maid, 16, Gilbertson^for Awaroa. The Wallace armed at West port at 1 o'clock this morning, and sailed this afternoon for Greymouth. The Charles Edward arrived at Greymouth from Hokitika this morning, and sails for Weatport and Nelson to-morrow at noon. The Murray leaves Wellington to-night, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and proceed to the West Coast on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Kennedy left Groymouth this morning for Nelson direct. The Graf ton sailed for West Coast ports yesterday morning. The Wanaka left Wellington at noon today, will arrive here tomorrow morning, and sail for Picton, Wellington, and South by the same tide at 10 a.m. The Wakatu orrived from Wanganui late last nigbt with a cargo of live stock. She sails for Wanganui and Wellington at 7 o'clock to-night. The Dido sailed for Waitapu yesterday morning. She loads there with timber for Lyttelton. The schooner Janette will be due here from Lyttelton in a day or two with a cargo of potatoes for Mr J. 11. Mabin, The Lyttelton arrived from Blenheim early yesterday morning, after a long passage. She left that port ou Wednesday, and meeting with bad weather, put into Croixelles harbor on Thursday at midday. She left there agaiu at midnight, but was unable to face the heavy N.W. gale raging outside, and consequently had to return to that port of refuge. On. Friday aud Saturday the gale blew with unabated fury, and the Lyttelton was detained a prisoner until 1 o'clock yesterday morning, when the weather having moderated, she made her escape, arriving here as above. She sails for Blenheim tomorrow at 2 p.m.
