A PARTICULAR PRISONER.

Gisborne, Saturday. Na Howhare, a Maori committed for trial some time ago, escaped yesterday morning by scaling the walla. He left word with some of his relatives that the reason for bis running away, was that the gaol accommodation was insufficient, and so soon as alterations were made in the supply of food and blankets he promised to write to the magistrate and to return to gaol. He has not yet been captured.
