Aug. 11, steamer Taiaroa, 228, Malcolm, from Taranaki and Manukau. Passengers: Mrs Younger, Mr and Mrs Brayshaw, Messrs Young, Locke, Donald, Tanner, Armstrong, Fairburn, Adams, Wright, SAILED. Aug. 12, steamer Taiaroa, 228, Malcolm, for Picton, Wellington, and South. Passengers: Misses Hounsell, Curtis, Mrs and Miss Murdock, Master Trolove, Messrs Curtis, Stone, Hounsell, Brown, Glasgow, Gibbons, Dunn, M'Rae, and Lynch Family of Bellringers (8).

The Lyttelton from Blenheim, the Wallace from Wellington, and the Murray from Wanganui, are expected to arrive bere tonight. The latter sails for Wesc Coast ports at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The Charles Edward left Westport at midnight last night, and may be expected to arrive here to-night, and leave again for the . West Coast to-morrow. The Wakatipu leaves Wellington for Sydney on the 20th instant. Tbe Wanaka left Wellington at uoon today, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Wellington, Taranaki, and Manukau at 1 p.m. on Saturday, taking the outward San Francisco mail: The Patea will arrive here from Patea to-morrow morning, and return to thafc port via Wellington at 6 p.m. The Dido, from Lyttelton to Oamaru, and the Richard and Mary, from Wanganui to Lyttelton, have not yet reached their destinations, although over a week out. Head winds and bad weather has probably • been the cause of their detention. ;. The Taiaroa arrived here last evening, and although the night was pitch dark, a gale of wind blowing, and a heavy sea running on the bar, she was boarded by the pilot and brought safely into harbor afc l_3op m. She left Onehunga ai 11 a.m. on Tuesday, and 1 arrived off New Plymouth at 7 am. yesterday; landed mails, passengers, &c, and proceeded on to Nelson at 9 a m., arriving here as above. Experienced strong westerly winds during the passage across the Straits. The Taiaroa sailed for Picton, Wellington, and Lyttelton tbis morning.
